Each Reading & Writing module consists of 27 questions, and each Math module consists of 22 questions.

You can type above in the Digital SAT Score Calculator the number of your correct answers in a full-length Digital SAT Practice test and see your SAT score. During your SAT exam prep, you will go through several quizzes and practice tests, and many of them will not be a full-length SAT test. However, it is crucial to know your adapted SAT scores for each quiz and practice test and whether it will be a full-length SAT exam. You can use our Digital SAT Score Calculator for quizzes above. It will calculate your results from practice SAT tests to real test scale scores.

You can type the total number of questions in any quiz or practice exam, and your number of correct questions, and our Digital SAT Score calculator will give you the adapted SAT score in the 200-800 range for that test if it would be a full-length SAT exam.

SAT Score Guide

There are two sections in the Digital SAT exam, Reading & Writing and Math. Each section is scored on a 200-800 scale. The total SAT score is the sum of the scores of the Reading & Writing sections and Math sections.

The minimum SAT score is 400, and the maximum you can get is 1600.Β The average SAT score is 1050, a score of 1350 would put you in the top 10% of test takers and help make your application competitive at more selective schools. However, for competitive colleges, you must get a very high SAT score.

Note that, the SAT score calculation is not linear. Even if you answer a few questions correctly, you may not score over 200 from the Reading & Writing or Math sections. Each question has a different weight during the exam and your results on the first module will affect the scores you will get from the second module.

What are SAT Percentiles?

According to The College Board, the “Nationally Representative Sample Percentile” compares your performance to those of “all U.S. students in a particular grade, including those who don’t typically take the test.

“Your SAT User Percentile – National” compares your performance against those of every college-bound SAT-taker in the 11th or 12th grades. “The Nationally Representative Sample Percentile” will be higher, because your “SAT User Percentile” doesn’t take into account students who don’t take the SAT or intend to go to college. Therefore, consider your “SAT User Percentile”Β when assessing your results from practice tests.

Is My SAT Score Good?

A student’s maximum score on the SAT is 1600, and the minimum score is 400. While the average SAT score is around 1060, the SAT score you need depends on the school you dream of. If you dream of an Ivy League university or college, you must score over 1400.

We’ve listed some of the colleges’ SAT score percentiles below. After calculating your scores with our Digital SAT Score Calculator, you can check if your scores hit the college you dream of. In our post, you can look for otherΒ Colleges’ SAT Score Percentiles and Acceptance rates.

College SAT Score Percentiles
Cal Tech 1530 – 1580
Harvard 1460 – 1580
MIT 1510 – 1580
Yale 1460 – 1580
Stanford 1420 – 1570
University of Michigan 1340-1560

Purdue 1190 – 1430
Penn State U.-Univ. Park 1150 – 1340
Univ. of Miami 1250 – 1420

For instance, if you are planning to apply to Boston College, you should be scoring around 1330 and 1500. Note that, that is the average of all college applications.Β If you are planning to apply for a popular department of a college, you need to score more than these averages.Β For instance,Β  Economics, Finance, and Computer Science are popular departments at Boston College. Therefore, the score percentiles of the accepted students in these departments are expected to be above the 1330 – 1500 range.

Depending on your initial result, if there is a huge gap from the target score, you should be studying harder.

Digital SAT Exam Structure

There are two sections, Reading & Writing, and Math in the SAT exam. Each section has two modules. Reading & Writing modules are 27 questions each, and Math modules are 22 questions each. The Digital SAT Score at the top of the page is calculating SAT scores based on these actual SAT modules’ number of questions.

The Digital SAT exam is adaptive. In Module I, you will be asked a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Then, the difficulty of the Module II will depend on your score in the Module I. This means that the test β€œadapts” to present questions that are more appropriate to a student’s performance level. The following figure depicts the Digital SAT adaptive testing model.
